Abstract

Abstract: It deals with disorders of the autism spectrum disorders (ASD), damage to the complex neuro-development associated with long-term difficulties with social impact, in the context of a significant increase in the number of individuals diagnosed with ASD in the last decade or so. Our project proposes an approach for translational, from the clinic to neurobiology, and genetics, carried out in partnership between the Psychiatric Hospital “Prof. Dr Alex. Obregia”, National Institute of Research and Development in the Field of the Biomedical Sciences, “Victor Babes” University of Oslo. The comprehensive assessment of a cohort of large patients, the party shall contribute to the initiation of a National Register for the TSA. In addition, there will be generated as a result of data on the genetic mechanisms involved in the occurrence of ASD. The project will allow for the teams to Romanian to increase their expertise and research capacity. The project's main objective is to improve the recognition of an early and a clinical diagnosis of ASD, and the development and implementation of a protocol for the comprehensive studies of the genetic and neuro-imaging; development of recommendations for patient-centered; the initiation of a National Register for the TSA.

The project is financed from the funds of the EEA Grants 2014 – 2021, and is driven by the Promoter of the Project, the Psychiatric Hospital ”Prof. Dr. Alexandru Obregia”, together with the UEFSCDI.
